Ouvrages brings together seven artists from Québec, Ontario, and Alberta, whose research has to do with architecture and, more broadly, the built environment. The works in the exhibition engage visitors in diverse experiences that explore the social, cultural, political, historical, and sensory dimensions of architecture. Most of the artists usually create very large sculptures and installations; however, the relationship between their works and the Occurrence galleries arose from the curator’s exchanges with them, as well as from conversations among themselves. Testifying to the collaborative work behind the building of any structure, these works result from numerous back-and-forths stretching from conceptual reflection to execution.
